Scored by Ayub Rana against our published methodology.

Maven Trading is one of the cheapest entry points in the funded-account market, with challenges from $15 (2K 3-step) up to $495 (100K 1-step) across 1-step, 2-step, 3-step, instant, and mini programs spanning $2K to $100K. The flagship 2-step uses a static 8% maximum loss with a 4% daily limit and 8%/5% targets, funded traders keep 80% (70% on instant, 75% on mini), and 3 minimum trading days apply. Payouts run bi-weekly with a $50 minimum via bank wire or crypto, news trading is unrestricted, and standard algorithmic strategies are allowed while HFT and latency arbitrage are banned.

Pros & Cons

Maven pros & cons

The strengths and trade-offs our editors weigh when scoring this firm.

What traders like

  • Four programme families are published side by side: 1-step, 2-step, 3-step and instant funding, plus a Mini and a Buy Now Pay Later variant, so a trader can pick an evaluation length rather than take the only one on offer.
  • 80 percent profit split on the standard 1-step, 2-step, 3-step and Buy Now Pay Later funded accounts, published on the pricing page rather than only in the terms.
  • The evaluation fee is refunded: the FAQ states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account.
  • Three trading platforms are supported, Match-Trader, cTrader and MetaTrader 5, so the trader is not locked to one terminal.
  • Withdrawals can be requested every 10 business days from the first trade, and the Mini account pays out the next day after the trading period ends.

What to watch

  • Payouts above a threshold depend on attending an interview. The FAQ states that after exceeding 5,000 US dollars in payouts a trader must take a risk interview with an analyst, that it must be booked and attended within two weeks of the invitation, that it may be rescheduled only once, and that failing to attend means the payout is not processed. The FAQ adds that traders under 5,000 US dollars in profit may also be interviewed at Maven's discretion.
  • Expert advisors are banned outright. The FAQ states EAs are not permitted under any circumstances across all platforms, so no automation of any kind is available.
  • A hard news window applies: no opening or closing of trades within 2 minutes either side of a red folder news release. Only instant accounts are exempt.
  • A consistency rule gates withdrawals rather than only the evaluation: instant and Buy Now Pay Later funded accounts need a consistency score of 20 percent or below, calculated as biggest winning day divided by total profit, and Mini accounts carry a 15 percent rule based on the highest trade.
  • The firm's own pages give two different legal entities. The terms and conditions name MAVEN LLC in the DIEZ free zone, registration 105072496000001, while the homepage footer, the About page and the AML policy all name Maven Edu - FZCO at DSO-IFZA, registration 006-0060823-070425.
  • No broker or liquidity provider is named anywhere on the site, and the terms describe all accounts as demo accounts in a simulated trading environment.

Read the fine print

  • Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. STAGED FEE: the price field holds only the 5 US dollar entry payment. If the evaluation is passed the remaining fee of 40 US dollars must be paid to activate the funded account, so the true all-in cost of this plan is 45 US dollars. No coupon is applied to this plan and no crossed out price is shown, so 5 dollars now plus 40 dollars later is the list price. LIMITS CHANGE AFTER FUNDING. Evaluation: 4 percent profit target, 10 percent maximum drawdown calculated statically from starting balance, NO daily drawdown limit at all, no minimum trading days, news trading fully permitted. Funded: a 4 percent daily end of day drawdown limit appears where there was none, and the maximum drawdown changes from 10 percent static to 8 percent TRAILING from highest floating equity, a materially stricter model. Funded also adds a 20 percent consistency score before each withdrawal, the M2 Account Saver and a profit rebuild rule. Profit split stays 80 percent, leverage stays 75:1, news trading stays allowed, still no minimum trading days. Payout on the funded stage is described as instant. Sold on MetaTrader 5.
  • Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Omo is sold only on Match-Trader and MetaTrader 5; no cTrader variant is listed. Note the unusual target ladder: phase 2 is HARDER than phase 1, 6 percent then 8 percent. Max drawdown is 8 percent static from starting balance, does not trail, and applies across all three stages including funded. Daily EOD drawdown 4 percent, reset at 00:00 UTC on the higher of balance or equity. Minimum 4 profitable days of at least 0.5 percent in each phase INCLUDING the funded stage; hitting the target without 4 qualifying days does not pass or unlock a withdrawal. Time limit 180 days across both evaluation phases combined, with no separate per-phase deadline. Funded stage adds the M2 Account Saver: at 2 percent drawdown all open trades are force closed and the profit split is permanently cut from 80 percent to 50 percent; a second breach permanently deactivates the account. Withdrawal caps: first payout limited to 6 percent of account balance, second to 8 percent, uncapped thereafter. Minimum hold time 150 seconds.
  • §Fee is NOT marked refundable: the Mini card is the only card on the pricing page that omits the 'Refundable on the third withdrawal' line. Price shown is the Match-Trader and MetaTrader 5 list price; the cTrader variant of this plan is listed 20 US dollars higher. Mini is instantly funded with no evaluation phase and is a single payout model: after the first withdrawal the account is closed. Time limit is 24 hours of trading, timer starts on the first trade, and the payout must be submitted inside that window, which is why timeLimitDays is 1. No profit target, but 3 percent profit is required to be eligible for a payout. Consistency rule is 15 percent based on the largest winning trade divided by total profit. Only one trade may be open at a time and the minimum hold time is 150 seconds. Max loss 3 percent trailing max drawdown that does not reset. Daily loss 2 percent against the higher of balance or equity at 00:00 UTC. Additional 1 percent max risk on the difference between equity and balance. Payout is processed the next day after the trading period ends. Separate promotional Mini obtained via Zealy carries a 20 percent split, a 20 percent consistency score and no minimum hold time.
  • Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Price shown is the Match-Trader and MetaTrader 5 list price; the cTrader variant of this plan is listed 20 US dollars higher. No profit target: the account is funded from the start. Maven instead requires 3 percent profit before a payout can be requested. Consistency score of 20 percent or below is required before any withdrawal, calculated as biggest winning day divided by total profit times 100. Additional rule not carried by the columns: max total risk of 1 percent, meaning floating PnL may never show more than a 1 percent loss against balance or the account is breached. Max loss 3 percent trailing from the high watermark, checked at any point, so it is intraday equity trailing. Daily loss 2 percent against the higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC. Payout frequency is stated as 'when requirements are met'.
  • Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Price shown is the Match-Trader and MetaTrader 5 list price; the cTrader variant of this plan is listed 20 US dollars higher. Max loss 3 percent static. Daily loss 2 percent, measured against the higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC. No consistency score. Payout frequency 10 business days. No time limit is published for the 3-step.
  • #Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Price shown is the Match-Trader and MetaTrader 5 list price; the cTrader variant of this plan is listed 20 US dollars higher. Max loss 8 percent static from starting balance. Daily loss 4 percent, measured against the higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC. Minimum profitable days: 3 days of at least 0.5 percent in each phase, and the same 3 days are required again in the funded phase before a withdrawal. No consistency score. Payout frequency 10 business days. Maven's own 2-step page is titled 'No Time Limits' and states 'No time limits.'
  • ††Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Price shown is the Match-Trader and MetaTrader 5 list price; the cTrader variant of this plan is listed 20 US dollars higher. Max loss is 5 percent trailing off the highest watermark of equity, so an open position can breach it intraday. Daily loss 3 percent, measured against the higher of equity or balance at 00:00 UTC. No consistency score on this plan. Payout frequency 10 business days. No time limit is published for the 1-step; Maven only states 'No time limits' on the 2-step page.
  • ‡‡Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Sold on Match-Trader only. FAQ and pricing card agree here: One-Step Elite 'uses Static Drawdown with a 5% max drawdown'. 9 percent profit target, no profit target on the funded stage, NO daily drawdown limit, NO minimum trading days, NO consistency rule, 70 percent profit split, payout frequency 10 business days. Maximum 3 percent of starting balance may be earned from any single question; profit above that is nulled. The pricing card shows the funded stage max loss widening to 8 percent, which the FAQ does not repeat, so treat the funded figure as unverified.
  • §§Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. Sold on Match-Trader only. Maven's two sources CONTRADICT each other on this plan's max drawdown, so it is left null rather than guessed. The Prediction Markets FAQ says One-Step Essential 'uses Trailing Drawdown with a 3% max drawdown', while the pricing card for the same plan shows max loss 5 percent in phase 1 and 8 percent on the funded stage. The 5 percent static figure belongs to the Elite tier per the FAQ, so the card looks like a copied template. Confirmed either way: 9 percent profit target with no profit target on the funded stage, NO daily drawdown limit, NO minimum trading days, NO consistency rule, 70 percent profit split, payout frequency 10 business days. A separate cap applies: a maximum of 3 percent of the starting balance may be earned from any single question, and profit above that is nulled. The pricing card also shows the funded stage max loss widening to 8 percent, which is unverified against the FAQ.
  • ‖‖Fee refundable: Maven states a full refund is issued on the third withdrawal on the account. STAGED FEE: the price field holds only the 5 US dollar entry payment. If the evaluation is passed the remaining fee of 69 US dollars must be paid to activate the funded account, so the true all-in cost of this plan is 74 US dollars. No coupon is applied to this plan and no crossed out price is shown, so 5 dollars now plus 69 dollars later is the list price.

Rules

Maven rules, explained

The rules that actually get traders breached: what they are and how this firm sets them.

Maven trading rules summary
RuleMavenWhy it matters
Drawdown typeHybridTrailing drawdown follows your equity peak and is the #1 cause of surprise breaches; static drawdown is fixed from starting balance and far more forgiving.
Consistency rule20% cap per dayCaps how much of your total profit can come from a single day. A strict cap can delay or void payouts for traders with a few big wins.
News tradingRestrictedSome firms void trades placed around high-impact news releases, which is critical if you trade NFP, CPI, or rate decisions.
Expert advisors (EAs)Not allowedDetermines whether automated strategies and copiers are permitted, and whether an EA can get your account flagged.
Minimum trading days3 daysThe floor on how fast you can pass a phase, which matters if you trade infrequently or want to pass quickly.
Weekend / overnight holdingAllowedSwing traders need positions to survive the Friday close. Where holding is barred, open trades are closed for you and gaps cannot be traded.
Copy tradingNot allowedDecides whether you can mirror one strategy across several accounts. Most firms that allow it restrict it to accounts you own yourself.
High-frequency tradingNot allowedFirms police latency arbitrage and tick scalping hard, and an HFT breach is one of the most common reasons a passed account is voided.
